Rylan Clark-Neal shocks Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan as he jokes Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby 'hate each other'

Rylan Clark-Neal shocked Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan when he joked that Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield “hate” each other.

The fan-favourite presenter jokingly dropped a major bombshell as he helped out hosting a showbiz segment on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday.

Asked by Morgan whether the award-winning This Morning duo get on in real life, Clark-Neal decided to have some fun and play devil’s advocate.

“Oh no they hate each other. It's awful up there,” he said. “They don't talk to each other. It's terrible.”

Willoughby and Schofield fans will, of course, know that Clark-Neal was only joking and the pair are actually so close that they have taken family holidays together.

The duo, who also present Dancing On Ice, often descend into fits of giggles presenting the ITV magazine show.

But the on-screen favourites had a mock fight on Tuesday when Schofield outed his co-host for having a packet of crisps tucked away on set.

After a segment on the nation’s favourite crisp, Schofield threatened to tell viewers that she had been snacking on Frazzles off-camera.

Holly Willoughby accuses Phillip Schofield of 'betraying her trust' on This Morning

“Are you about to betray my trust and tell a secret?” Willoughby asked.

Offering the camera a cheesy grin Schofield pulled out the crisp and said: “I am because you were over there, you’ve taken a Frazzle and not had time to eat it.”

Giggling at the on-air revelation, she then revealed that she was almost caught out by a guest dog smelling the snack when she sat down.

“I almost got found out by Bridget the schnauzer here because I’ve got a bacon based product,” she told viewers.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
