Rylan Clark-Neal says key to his success is being nice while working with 'nasty' people

Rylan Clark-Neal has had to work with his fair share of "nasty" industry people over the years to achieve the success he has now.

The former X Factor star, who is the new host of the rebooted Supermarket Sweep as well as Strictly It Takes Two, says that he has never changed over the past seven years in entertainment.

Rylan, 30, said that it pays to be nice to everyone no matter their position: "Some people spoke to me like [I was] s*** in the early days and when I eventually did well for myself, they spoke to me very differently. I never forget, though."

Failing as a singer, Rylan went on to win Celebrity Big Brother before winning popularity presenting on shows like Big Brother's Little Bit on the Side and This Morning.

He added to Closer magazine : "I've worked with a lot of people who, just because they think they're in authority of because they're important, talk to other people like [they're] s***.

"The reason I have been successful is because I have been nice to everyone."

Rylan, who is married to ex-Big Brother contestant Dan Neal, also said that despite what viewers see on television he's not best mates with everyone.

The presenter who has worked with the likes of Emma Willis, Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Alison Hammond and Amanda Holden , says there's no point in "pretending" your pals outside of work and has a close circle of showbiz friends.

Rylan also told TV Times recently that he likes to keep himself grounded and remembers where he started.

“Once a year, I make myself watch that Judges’ Houses moment from X Factor. I hate it, and it will haunt me forever.

“But watching that keeps me grounded. I say, ‘This is what you wanted, you’ve got it, now use it’.”
