Rylan Clark-Neal says he's not in a good place after 'mistakes' lead to breakdown of marriage

Rylan Clark-Neal has said he is in 'a bad place' after admitting 'mistakes' led to a breakdown in his marriage.

The presenter has issued a statement after it emerged he had split from husband of six years, Dan Neal.

The pair met on Big Brother's Bit on the Side - which Rylan was hosting - in 2015 and they became engaged the following year.

Rylan and Dan, an ex-Met Police detective, walked down the aisle in 2016 and have kept their relationship away from the public eye.

But fans were concerned after Ryaln missed his BBC Radio 2 show for a seventh week.

Speculation then began as to why he had pulled out of his show before his split was rumoured.

Rylan, 32, had now confirmed the separation, telling The Sun in a statement: "Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out - as the way it is being reported is unfair.

"I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage."

He continued to say that he was trying to "seek help" as he was struggling with some personal issues and is "not in a good place at the moment".

Rylan added: "I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time."

As well as his BBC Radio 2 show, Rylan also stepped away from hosting Eurovision last month.

He has also remained silent on social media which led to fans asking questions about his whereabouts.
