Rylan Clark-Neal's Strictly co-star Janette praised for giving him 'spark back'

Rylan Clark-Neal's Strictly Come Dancing co-host Janette Manrara has been praised for giving the presenter his "spark back."

The popular presenter took a hiatus from work after the breakdown of his marriage to Dan Neal, but has now made a triumphant return to the Strictly spin-off show.

Insiders say Rylan and Janette are getting on like a house on fire and have praised the former dancer for aiding his comeback.

Speaking to new magazine a source at the show said: "Strictly has saved him - the old Rylan is coming back.

"Janette has been a real support. They've got great chemistry and he's got his spark back.

"Janette has been very supportive and down to earth - she's been a real breath of fresh air."

Janette, 37, replaces Zoe Ball on the show who Rylan worked with since 2019.

The former X Factor star has had a well-publicised break-up with his husband Dan and is said to be living with his mum Linda while he takes time to heal.

Rylan broke his silence on the breakdown of his six year marriage in June and blamed himself over their break-up in a heartfelt statement.

He said that he is "in a bad place" and that is his "seeking help" over mistakes he made.

In a statement to fans, Rylan said: "Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out - as the way it is being reported is unfair.

“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.”

The source told new that despite trying to get back together Dan and Rylan just "couldn't make things work."

They continued saying Rylan said he was "a lot to blame for it" and friends were worried after he "went into himself" and wasn't answering their texts.

However, it now looks like the old Rylan really is coming back as the charismatic host has also made a welcome return to his Radio 2 show.

The 32-year-old recently liked a tweet that claims he's 'smiling again' following his recent relationship woes.

The former X Factor contestant acknowledged a post from a fan on Twitter, where the original tweeter pointed out the change in the star's demeanour over the last month.

It comes after pictures emerged of Rylan beaming as he enjoyed after work drinks with the Strictly Come Dancing : It Takes Two crew on Friday.

Rylan looked in good spirits as he enjoyed a laugh with his colleagues and later beamed for photographers as he left the London pub.

Strictly: It Takes Two continues weeknights at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
