Rylan Clark-Neal pulls out of another presenting job after marriage split

Rylan Clark-Neal has pulled out of another work commitment amid his split from husband Dan Neal.

The presenter, 32, will not be attending the Fantasia concert at Promenade Park in Essex this coming weekend, a rep for the event has confirmed.

Rylan was due to host the concert, alongside Joey Essex and Denise Van Outen, which celebrates pop music from the 1970s up to 2000s.

The event had already been rescheduled from June, and a spokesman for the concert announced that the popular star would not be taking part.

"Unfortunately RYLAN is unable to be part of the event this weekend, they told Express.co.uk on Monday.

Last month, it was reported that the much-loved presenter had split from his husband of six years Dan.

The news came after Rylan had been absent from his Radio 2 show for six weeks.

The former X Factor contestant later confirmed the rumours in a statement issued to The Sun, and said he was taking time off work and seeking help following the surprise break-up.

“Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair.

“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.

“I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help,” Rylan added.

He then took to social media to update his fans and followers on his personal life, and said he was focusing on his mental health following the split.

"I just wanted to write a message to thank you all for the love and kindness you've shown us.

"We are currently prioritising our mental health and looking after the ones around us we love most,” Rylan shared on Instagram earlier this month.

“I am working towards getting back to the jobs I love in due course.

Rylan hasn’t been hosting his Saturday afternoon radio show on Radio 2 since 8 May, with the likes of Cat Deeley and Vernon Kay standing in for him.

BBC bosses were hopeful of Rylan’s return to the airwaves, and said in a statement: “Rylan is taking a few week's break and we look forward to him returning to Radio 2 in due course.”

He also pulled out of presenting duties for Eurovision in May, and has scarcely been on social media since the split.

Rylan, who first found fame as a contestant on The X Factor in 2012, met ex-Met Police detective Dan in 2013, when he interviewed him on Big Brother ’s Bit on the Side after Dan was evicted from the Big Brother house in week six.

Dan proposed during a romantic trip to Paris, and the couple wed in an intimate ceremony in November 2015.

They also made TV history in 2016 when they became the first gay couple to host This Morning.
