Rylan Clark Neal joining Strictly It Takes Two with Zoe Ball as co-host

Rylan Clark-Neal has been announced as a new co-host for Strictly Come Dancing 's It Takes Two.

The former Big Brother's Bit on the Side presenter will join Zoe Ball on the BBC Two companion show when the series returns later this year.

BBC Strictly's Twitter account revealed the news earlier today, which is surely set to surprise Strictly fans as Zoe has presented the show solo since she took over from Claudia Winkleman in 2011.

The statement read: "Joining Zoe Ball as the co-host of It Takes Two is Rylan! We can’t wait to welcome him to the #Striclty family when the show returns on  @BBCTwo in the autumn."

Zoe, who recently took over the prestigious BBC Two Radio Breakfast Show role, has long presented It Takes Two with the help of Strictly professionals Ian Waite and Karen Hardy.

She will be joined by Rylan who shared his delight at joining the BBC dancing competition.

He said: "I can't begin to explain how excited I am to be joining the Strictly family.

Strictly bosses 'want ballet star Carlos Acosta to replace Darcey Bussell'

"I've always been a massive fan of It Takes Two and to be working with the amazing Zoe Ball is a dream.

"I'm extremely honoured to be joining such a television institution and can't wait to bring a lot of mischief to the Strictly bubble. I'm looking forward to getting started and seeing you all soon."

The news of Rylan joining the Strictly family comes after Darcey Bussell announced she was leaving the show as a judge.
