Rylan Clark forced to issue another clarification as he's 'congratulated' over 'engagement'

Rylan Clark has been forced to send out another message after he found himself being congratulated in the street. The TV and radio star has recently jetted back from Italy where he was filming his new TV show.

It was announced earlier this month that Rylan will join forces with Robert Rinder for a new BBC travel series. The three-part BBC Two series will see the pair follow in the footsteps of the romantic poet Lord Byron and English aristocrats who took on the Grand Tour, a classic trip through Europe popular in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Rylan and Rob, who many will know as Judge Rinder thanks to his ITV series, have since shared snippets of their trip on social media before their filming commitments came to and end and they returned back to the UK.

But it was one of Rob's social media updates that got tongues wagging and it appears it's still causing problems for his new TV partner. He took to Twitter with a gorgeous snap showing the two stars standing in what appeared to be the Italian countryside.

The views spread for miles while Rylan and Rob stood facing each other under the bright sun beating down on them, both while sporting crisp white shirts and trousers.

"Elton’s set at Glastonbury has inspired us to tie the knot. I [heart] @Rylan," Rob typed alongside the snap on Twitter as fans rushed to share their congratulations with some believing the nuptials to be true.

However, those wanting it to be real, were sadly disappointed as Rylan, 34, himself replied and confirmed: "Fake news he’s had a wine."

But it does appear that the message didn't spread far enough as in a new tweet, former Strictly It Takes Two host Rylan said: "Someone just congratulated me on the street….. To clarify I am not engaged to @RobbieRinder."

He then jokingly added: "He just likes wine. Thanks x." And Rob was among the first to respond, simply sharing a crying laughing emoji as he continued to see the funny side of his post.

But the disappointment was still rife amongst his followers and fans. @crinder1 joked: "Such a shame I was so looking forward to meeting my new brother in law." @realdannimorgan laughed: "Awww gutted was about to buy a new hat as well.

Talent agent Melanie Blake echoed: "And I’d bought a gorgeous hat as well..." @EddieWaterbaby admitted: "Well, that's put a damper on the day. You could have just gone with it and had a 'long' engagement. Anyway, it just goes to show how many people were happy for you both. Which is rather lovely, within itself."

@moraigcampbell replied: "Aww you'd make a cute couple." @KateCommonsense commented: "When I read you and @RobbieRinder were engaged I thought that makes perfect sense, they really look great together." @zoeatkinson2301 added: "Imagine how fabulous the wedding would be though."
