Europe moved to the very brink of glory at the 2025 Ryder Cup as they completely dominated Saturday’s foursomes and fourballs to extend their lead to 11½ -4½ – needing just 2½ points to retain the cup.
There was an increasingly hostile, abusive crowd at Bethpage Black with the likes of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry seemingly losing their cool at the comments being fired their way. But it did little to inspire the Americans, or put off the Europeans, as the visitors won both sessions 3-1 to hold the biggest-ever lead heading into Sunday’s singles.
USA actually brought home the first point of day two as Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Young beat Matt Fitzpatrick and the out of sorts Ludvig Aberg 4&2 but there was little to cheer for the hosts after that. Jon Rahm produced a magical chip-in on the eighth hole to inspire Europe to another win, alongside Tyrrell Hatton, while the unbeatable Tommy Fleetwood and McIlroy combined for another battering of Harris English and Collin Morikawa and Bob MacIntyre joined up with Viktor Hovland to down world No 1 Scottie Scheffler, playing with Russell Henley.
The afternoon was more of the same as McIlroy and Lowry triumphed, Fleetwood and Justin Rose beat Scheffler and DeChambeau i a match that included an altercation on the 15th green and Hatton and Fitzpatrick snatched a win on the 18th, although Xander Schauffele and JJ Spaun at least earned the US a point by winning up the last.

Insults, police and McIlroy’s wrath: How the Ryder Cup boiled over at Bethpage Black
00:30 , Lawrence Ostlere in New YorkYou know the golf’s probably got a little out of hand when the police are called. Men with big hats and small guns emerged through the trees to the fourth green like they were quashing an insurgency. Suffolk County Police, NYPD and Secret Service officers descended on match two – Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy against Justin Thomas and Cameron Young – as this simmering Ryder Cup finally boiled over.
No country in the world does obnoxious golf fans quite like America, and no country in the world does sincerely troubling security presence like America either.
It was a heady mix which turned the match into a travelling bear pit, with every passage to the next tee like a tunnel of rage directed at the Europeans, who had to be chaperoned through the chaos.

Insults, police and McIlroy’s wrath: How the Ryder Cup boiled over at Bethpage Black
Rory McIlroy reacts to abusive American crowd after ‘really challenging day’ at Ryder Cup
00:15 , Luke BakerRory McIlroy admits he endured a “really challenging day” after American golf fans directed abuse to spark ugly scenes at the Ryder Cup.
McIlroy was disrupted by expletives from USA supporters throughout his fourballs match alongside Shane Lowry against Justin Thomas and Cameron Young.
And insults shouted during McIlroy’s backswing and while he was preparing to putt on the greens prompted Lowry to fire back towards the crowd.
While police also intervened in a bid to calm the crowd down, before the Irish duo rallied on the 18th to secure a two up victory, sparking an emotional embrace between the pair.

Justin Rose in furious row with Bryson DeChambeau and caddie as sparks fly at Ryder Cup
00:04 , Jack RathbornJustin Rose was involved in a furious row with Bryson DeChambeau and the American’s caddie Gregory Bodine in a chaotic day at the Ryder Cup.
In a gripping fourballs match between Rose and Tommy Fleetwood and DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler, with the European duo winning 3&2, emotions spilled over on the 15th green and then again on the walk to the 16th tee.
Rose was upset at Bodine when he perceived the caddie to enter his area while preparing to putt and his line. The European stalwart eventually holed his birdie putt, though the American replied to extend the contest. But on the subsequent walk to the 16th hole, Fleetwood, Rose, their caddies and DeChambeau were all involved in a heated argumet.
“The level of golf was incredible,” Rose said when explaining what happened. “I was ready to hit my putt and I didn't think that space was honoured. I asked them to move, maybe not so politely, but it was intense.

Europe on the brink of victory
23:52 , Luke BakerWhat a Saturday for Team Europe. They are on the brink of not just winning an away Ryder Cup but embarrassing the United States.
They lead 11½ - 4½ and need just 2½ points to retain or three to win outright. Remember there are 12 points up for grabs on Sunday. The Americans are finished. Surely...

Hatton/Fitzpatrick BEAT Burns/Cantlay 1UP
23:30 , Luke BakerAND ANOTHER POINT FOR EUROPE! Cantlay can’t do anything form the fringe and Burns rolls his putt down the hill but it doesn’t break at all. Euro putts conceded and Hatton/Fitzpatrick have won 1UP!
The chants of ‘Ole, Ole, Ole’ are reverberating around Bethpage. The score heading into Sunday will be 11.5-4.5 to Europe! Incredible. Let’s face it, it’s over.

Fitzpatrick and Hatton playing billiards
23:27 , Luke BakerBilliards on the 18th from the Europeans in the final match. From the bunker on 18, Fitzpatrick digs out a shot not dissimilar to the famous one in his 2023 US Open triumph. Spins it and it rolls back to within a couple of feet of the hole.
Hatton follows, lands past the hole and spins back where his ball rolls into Fitzpatrick’s ball! They’re playing billiards. Two glorious birdies chances, almost kick-in.
Burns is well past the hole with a stinker of a putt down the hill, while Cantlay spins his ball off the front of the green, pressing up against the thick stuff. That will be impossible almost

Spaun/Schauffele BEAT Rahm/Straka 1UP
23:24 , Luke BakerOn the 18th green in match three and USA are on the brink of victory. Rahm can’t splash out of the bunker for a birder and Straka’s attempt from off the green is miles away.
Poor birdie putt form Schauffele who hasn’t played well today and Rahm does get in for par meaning it comes down to Spaun. No more than four feet, for a birdie and a full point.
HE GETS IT! ‘U-S-A, U-S-A’ chants around the green, followed by ‘JJ Spaun, JJ Spaun’. He played really well over the final few holes and gets an American point on the board to narrow the deficit to 10.5-4.5. Jon Rahm finally beaten. The final match becomes vital now.

McIlroy reflects on abuse received
23:18 , Luke BakerRory McIlroy spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live about his lively match and the noise from the crowd.
"It was mostly good for us. We are just so happy to get a blue point on the board. It's our first full point as a partnership, we weren't able to get a full one at Whistling Straits, we had a half yesterday, and then a full one today.
"So I'm really happy that I'm able to walk inside the ropes with this man and he was there for me today. All of the credit for this win goes to Shane. It was a really challenging day. I am going to sleep well tonight."

Europe fans goad Americans after late surge in Ryder Cup fourballs
23:16 , Jack RathbornEurope fans are delirious, and the songs, a little more creative than “U-S-A, U-S-A”.
“You’re getting sacked in the morning,” is one, directed at Keegan Bradley.
And Americans are flocking out of Bethpage Black, with Europe fans gleefully crying: “Is there a fire drill?”

Wedge-off at 18 puts Spaun and Schauffele in charge
23:14 , Luke BakerTee shots all boomed down 18 in the final match so we come to the wedge-off.
Straka first up from 98 yards in the fairway, lands short of the hole and spins back off the green into the fringe. Now Spaun, 97 yards. Puts it beyond the hole, spins back and ends up about four feet from the hole. Great shot! Easy birdie you’d think.
Takes the pressure off Schauffele who skips his wedge to the right of the hole. It’s an decent look. Pressure on Rahm... Just 77 yards from the rough, he sticks it high and that’s sand! In the bunker.
This is a golden chance for the US to take a full point and finally beat Jon Rahm.
Cantlay and Hatton make clutch putts
23:11 , Luke BakerHatton/Fitzpatrick vs Burns/Cantlay A/S (17)
Patrick Cantlay is stepping up. A birdie at 16 to save the half and then he rolls in another at 17 - stunning putt! Puts all the pressure on Hatton - a downhill putt of about 10 feet.
Needs to start it outside the hole. Does so and it’s in the heart! Clutch from the Europeans. All-square heading to the last

Spaun brings US level
23:05 , Luke BakerFair play to the American quartet still on the course. They’re fighting.
Cantlay with a clutch putt at 16 to keep the bottom match level before Spaun wins the hole for the US in the third match!
Straka and Schauffele miss birdie putts and then Rahm blinks for the first time, missing after considering his putt for a long time. Spaun holds his nerve and wipes the European blue off the board. All-square heading to the last.
- Spaun/Schauffele A/S Rahm/Straka (17)
- Burns/Cantlay A/S Hatton/Fitzpatrick (16)
Final knocking of Saturday fourballs
22:54 , Luke BakerTwo matches left on the course and Europe currently on for 1.5 more points.
Tee shots being fired in at the 17th and it’ll be a putting contest to see if the Spaun-Schauffele duo can get things back all-square heading to the last.
- Spaun/Schauffele vs Rahm/Straka 1UP (16)
- Burns/Cantlay A/S Hatton/Fitzpatrick (15)
Jon Rahm marries magic and Europe’s secret ingredient to light up Ryder Cup
22:50 , Luke BakerA flick of a raised thumb from Xander Schauffele, the American knew the fiendishly difficult challenge Jon Rahm had just met with courage and a dash of creativity.
“Me gusta la playa,” boomed one American fan, with the fiery Spaniard slumping down into the sand. It was a horrible spot, with the ball above his feet, sitting snugly in the rough with a devilish left to right slope downhill to the pin.
But the famed reputation of ‘Spanish hands,’ especially Europe’s Ryder Cup legend and one of Rahm’s heroes, Seve Ballesteros, left its mark at Bethpage Black.

Jon Rahm marries magic and Europe’s secret ingredient to light up Ryder Cup
'Spine tingling scenes on 18'
22:48 , Jack Rathborn at Bethpage BlackJack Rathborn out on the course at Bethpage on the end of the Lowry/McIlroy match:
“Spine tingling scenes on 18 as the match is conceded after Thomas misses for birdie. “C’est fini!” Thomas Levet says to me…
“A respectful embrace between the players, but then an emotional embrace, Lowry and McIlroy hug and share some words, then Lowry erupts in delight, “Come on!” he screams at the grandstand. The European fans shower them in praise.”
Rose discusses altercation with DeChambeau caddie
22:47 , Luke BakerJustin Rose has talked to Sky Sports about his altercation on the 15th green with Bryson DeChambeau’s caddie, that spilled over to the 16th tee.
Rose said: “It was a shame it got to that point as it was a great match. I was waiting to putt and the boys were working on their read and their calculations. I waited a few seconds and then they came up again.
“I said 'it’s my putt isn’t it' but maybe I could have said it more politely. By no means was there any disrespect meant. I said if you want me to say "excuse me please" then my bad.
“I hope it is put to bed. It should be put to bed. There was no intent whatsoever. I admire Scottie more than anyone else on tour. It was something that was taken in a way that wasn't intended.
“I am just trying to control my environment in that moment.”
"Now the caddies are getting involved!"

McIlroy/Lowry BEAT vs Thomas/Young 2UP
22:42 , Luke BakerANOTHER EUROPEAN POINT. Thomas and Young can’t hole their third shots from off the green, so the concede, meaning McIlroy and Lowry win 2UP.
Europe are obliterating the hosts - it’s 10.5-3.5 with two matches still out there. The Americans can’t even get to the famous 10-6 Medinah deficit now...

'Another European point is moments away'
22:37 , Jack Rathborn at Bethpage BlackMcIlroy/Lowry 1UP vs Thomas/Young (17)
Jack Rathborn out on the course at Bethpage:
“A wedge contest on 18 and USA are desperate for a birdie. JT spins one back off the green, Young will need some fireworks with Lowry primed, but he misses the green.
“A free shot for Rory, perhaps, fizzed long and spinning back to within 15 feet. A European point is moments away.”
Fleetwood/Rose beat Scheffler/DeChambeau 3&2
22:34 , Luke BakerAND IT’S ALL OVER IN MATCH TWO. Justin Rose holes the putt he needs to and the Europeans win!
Another point for Rose and Fleetwood as the world No1 and their beating heart are dispatched. Europe now leads 9.5-3.5

'Lowry and McIlroy one up with one to play'
22:30 , Jack Rathborn at Bethpage BlackMcIlroy/Lowry 1UP vs Thomas/Young (17)
Jack Rathborn out on the course at Bethpage:
“‘He’s in your head’ rings around the 17th, McIlroy misses his birdie putt, now time for Lowry, they need it, JT will make birdie if he needs to.
“’U-S-A’ still sounds a few seconds before Lowry settles over the ball. MAKES IT! A calm reaction and fist pump follows, but McIlroy revels in his teammate’s putt made, spinning to the grandstand and goading the Americans. One up, one to play, they’re close to victory, but a half is still there for the Americans.”
Burns and Cantlay pull level
22:24 , Luke BakerHatton/Fitzpatrick vs Burns/Cantlay A/S (14)
Finally some good news for the Americans! They wipe a European lead off the board in the bottom match as they take the 14th when Hatton’s putt slips wide

'Absolute chaos around 17'
22:23 , Luke BakerLowry puts in a gem of a tee shot at the par-three 17th but with a last throw of the dice, Thomas goes even better as Jack Rathborn out on the course at Bethpage explains:
“Absolute chaos around 17 as Justin Thomas goes last and in desperate circumstances, one down, with two to play, he goes closest of all, a kick in birdie from two feet awaits.
“Pressure on Lowry and McIlroy now… Europeans in good voice too, deafening noise.”
Europe hold on to leads
22:21 , Luke BakerOk, the beef in the Rose match seems to have dissipated as Francesco Molinari has an arm round the shoulder of Scheffler’s caddie Ted Scott and all is well in the world again.
A quick whizz round the other matches.
Young steadies himself to putt at the 16th and duly sinks a birdie but McIlroy steps up and eases a putt in from a few feet to halve the hole. The European pair are 1UP with two to play.
In the bottom match, Cantlay has about six feet for birdie and the win but lips out! The hastily thrown together Hatton and Fitzpatrick pair still 1UP after 13.
Int he third match, Spaun buries a putt from 13 feet to pile all sort of pressure on Rahm, who delivers in style. Eight feet, heart of the hole and the Europeans stay 1UP thru 14.
Tension and beef in the Rose match
22:15 , Luke BakerOooh, a bit of beef building in the second game? On the 15th green, Rose is lining up a putt but has to stop and move DeChambeau’s caddy out of the way who had wandered on to his line. Shades of LaCava and McIlroy in 2023... Rose refocuses and punches in the birdie. Calm celebration. Matched by the Americans and DeChambeau celebrates wildy and pointedly at the Europeans, who are 3UP with three to play now.
The controversy rumbles on to the 16th tee. Scheffler’s caddie Ted Scott gets involved. Rose himself wants a word. Then Fleetwood’s caddy Ian Finnis has a word with Bryson and caddie saying “once is clumsy, ok, let’s play golf.” DeChambeau’s caddie seemed apologetic in fairness. European vice-captain Francesco Molinari has to come in and break things up. Tensions are high!

Scoreboard update
22:06 , Luke BakerThe bottom two matches have been ticking along with the pairs sharing holes, so Europe are still one up in both. Here’s a look at how things are going in all four - it’s glorious for the away side!
- Thomas/Young vs McIlroy/Lowry 1UP (15)
- Scheffler/DeChambeau vs Fleetwood/Rose 3UP (14)
- Spaun/Schauffele vs Rahm/Straka 1UP (13)
- Burns/Cantlay vs Hatton/Fitzpatrick 1UP (12)

'The European pair are alternating losing their minds'
22:01 , Lawrence Ostlere at Bethpage BlackMcIlroy/Lowry 1UP vs Thomas/Young (15)
Approaching crunch-time in the top match and although Thomas rolls in a clutch birdie, both Europeans have a great look and this time Lowry does the business first up to huge celebrations. Another hole halved and the Irish duo are edging towards a win.
Here’s Lawrence Ostlere on the course at Bethpage:
“Lowry celebrated so hard on the 15th green he forgot his ball.
“A laughing McIlory went and retrieved it. The European pair are playing alternate hole at losing their minds here.”

The Fleetwood-Rose train is steaming to victory
21:49 , Luke BakerFleetwood/Rose 3UP vs Scheffler/DeChambeau (14)
There’s very little DeChambeau and Scheffler can do to stop the Fleetwood-Rose train that is running downhill here.
At the par-three 14th, Fleetwood zings in a beauty to a few feet but doesn’t even need to put as Rose sinks his birdie putt from 12 feet or so.
DeChambeau actually responded to Fleetwood’s tee shot with a peach of his own but blocks his birdie put wide right. Should’ve made that really and now the US are 3DN in match two with four holes to play.
'The Americans poked the bear and they’re paying for it'
21:42 , Lawrence Ostlere at Bethpage BlackHere’s Lawrence Ostlere on the course at Bethpage with his take on that McIlroy situation.
“That was pure drama on the 14th green. Rory goading the fans after his putt dropped, then some more as Thomas’s lipped out. The Americans poked the bear and they’re paying for it.”
'Cat calls for Lowry' but McIlroy makes it a blue sweep
21:40 , Luke BakerThings are bubbling over in match one and Rory McIlroy has steam coming out of him! Having been heckled all day, McIlroy stomps around with roars of “F***ING COME ON” and fist pumps as he sinks a birdie on 14 from the fringe.
Thomas has a great birdie look but only for a half and it slips by. Europe are now 1UP in match one and that’s a clean sweep of blue on the board now!
Lawrence Ostlere out on the course at Bethpage:
“There is a loud, chaotic atmosphere around the 14th green where Lowry, McIlroy et al have just arrived. A lot of cat calls from the boisterous crowd, mainly about Lowry’s appearance. It’s pretty unnecessary stuff but the players are not reacting.”

Fleetwood from miles away
21:37 , Luke BakerFleetwood/Rose 2UP vs Scheffler/DeChambeau (13)
Scottie Scheffler hasn’t always looked like the world No 1 this week but he does there. Flicks a gorgeous shot to three feet on the 13th. Simple birdie upcoming.
But Tommy Fleetwood does Tommy Fleetwood things! From miles away he pours in a killer birdie! Scheffler tidies up his putt but suddenly it’s only for a half. Fleetwood and Rose look unstoppable.
'Lowry having to fight the Americans, the crowd and himself'
21:22 , Lawrence Ostlere at Bethpage BlackMcIlroy/Lowry vs Thomas/Young A/S (13)
The par-five 13th isn’t played particularly well by the quartet in the first match.
Lowry goes way right and is hitting out of the shrubbery, Thomas is in the greenside rough as he takes his fourth shot, while McIlroy and Young have pretty lengthy birdie attempts. None go in, so the hole is halved in par - a rarity on a par-five in fourballs.
Here’s Lawrence Ostlere out on the course at Bethpage:
“American fans were loudly counting how long Lowry was taking over his wedge on to the 13th green, and it caused him to step away several times.
“He looks frustrated. His game has deserted him over the past few holes and he’s having to fight against the Americans, the crowd and himself right now.”

Fleetwood converts
21:15 , Luke BakerFleetwood/Rose 2UP vs Scheffler/DeChambeau (12)
It’s Fleetwood who sinks his birdie putt on 12 in the end, Rosey doesn’t even need to dust off his putter. DeChambeau’s attempt from 20 feet goes wide left, so the Europeans back to 2UP in match two
Meanwhile, Straka snatches Europe a half on the 11th to keep them 1UP in match three. Spaun had a chance to win a second straight hole but dawdled his first putt up there.
'Grandpa' Rose produces a beauty
21:09 , Luke BakerFleetwood/Rose 1UP vs Scheffler/DeChambeau (11)
Fleetwood with an absolute pearler. A five iron from 218 yards and he lofts it to within 10 feet of the 12th hole. Sublime.
And Rose follows with an even better one! Before the shot he's called 'grandpa' by a particularly witty American fan... and responds by showing that whippersnapper a thing or two by landing just inside his partner's ball. Two stunning looks at birdie.
Can DeChambeau or Scheffler match that? No they can't. They'll have to find a long-distance birdie or the Europeans will likely immediately get their shot back and go two up.

Spaun sinks one from downtown Manhattan
20:59 , Luke BakerRahm/Straka 1UP vs Spaun/Schauffele (10)
Oh hello, JJ Spaun! Digs one out from downtown Manhattan! On the 10th green and while it’s not quite the distance of putt from his US Open win, it has to be 40 feet. It’s tracking and finds the cup.
Rahm and Straka both have decent-ish looks to match him but both miss. A club flip of disappointment from the Spaniard as his effort shaves the right edge. So the Americans win one against the head and move to 1DN in match three. Do the United States finally have life? There’s been a very slight momentum shift
DeChambeau roars US into action
20:54 , Luke BakerFleetwood/Rose 1UP vs Scheffler/DeChambeau (11)
A scream. A stomp. A walk towards the crowd. Bryson DeChambeau is intense as he desperately tries to fire this crowd up and they respond with a roar and the ‘U-S-A, U-S-A’ chant. Even Scottie Scheffler shows some emotion!
That comes after DeChambeau flicks an iron into the 11th green and when the European birdie putts miss, he hits from 12 feet. Never anywhere but in. Narrows the American deficit to 1DN in match two.
Bryson then goes full send on the driver from the 12th tee and finds the fairway. He’s trying to turn this thing around for the United States.

Fitzpatrick puts more blue on the board
20:46 , Luke BakerHatton/Fitzpatrick 1UP vs Burns/Cantlay (9)
Cantlay gives a long-ish birdie putt a good run at the 9th but the exasperation on his face tells the story. It slips by. Chance for Fitzpatrick to put a third bit of blue on the board... Eight feet and that’s crunched in! Is that a double fist pump or a ‘calma, calma’ hand gesture from the Sheffield man? Either way, another clutch putt.
The Europeans now 1UP thru 9 in the bottom match. The visitors are not letting up here are all. It’s brutal sport.
'This is pure chaos'
20:42 , Lawrence Ostlere at Bethpage BlackHere’s Lawrence Ostlere on the course at Bethpage:
“Justin Thomas is having to quieten the crowd on every single green. This is pure chaos.
“Luke Donald, Bob MacIntyre and one or two others from Team Europe have joined this match (Thomas/Young v McIlroy/Lowry) now.”

Rahmbo adds to American woe
20:40 , Luke BakerRahm/Straka 2UP vs Spaun/Schauffele (9)
Jon Rahm is nails. What a Ryder Cup he’s having. A look from 8 feet for the birdie and rolls it in the heart of the hole. Fist pump and the Europeans are 2UP thru 9 in match two.
McIlroy/Lowry vs Thomas/Young A/S (11)
In the top match, there’s drama on the 11th. Thomas sees a birdie attempt from the fringe slip by, so McIlroy and Lowry both have a putt for a half. Rory misses to cheers from the crowd and drops his head. Pressure all on Lowry... 7 feet and holds his nerve. Sinks it to keeps things all square.

Fleetwood stiffs one and Scheffler hits the flag
20:34 , Luke BakerFleetwood/Rose 2UP vs Scheffler/DeChambeau (10)
If you wanted two moments to contrast how this Ryder Cup has gone for Europe and the United States respectively, look no further.
On the 10th, Fleetwood stiffs a beauty of an iron to about five inches from the hole. It’s exquisite. Scheffler then looks like he’s followed him but hits the flag on the full and rebounds off the green, into the rough! Remarkable.
Fleetwood’s birdie putt is conceded so one of Scheffler or DeChambeau need to hole for the half. Scheffler’s pitch is good but lips out of the left edge, while Bryson’s putt is always left. A win for the Europeans and Fleetwood/Rose move 2UP thru 10

Europe up in two, tied in two
20:27 , Luke BakerRight, shall we have a quick check of the overall situation it’s good for Europe, they’re up in two and tied in two. They can all but win the Ryder Cup this evening and put down any realistic American chances
- Thomas/Young A/S McIlroy/Lowry (10)
- Scheffler/DeChambeau vs Fleetwood/Rose 1UP (9)
- Spaun/Schauffele vs Rahm/Straka 1UP (8)
- Burns/Cantlay A/S Hatton/Fitzpatrick (8)

USA fans resist creativity in Ryder Cup support
20:26 , Jack RathbornEd Malyon is at Bethpage Black and has been listening to the sounds of USA fans:
“Having sat out by the 11th green for the last hour or so, I can report the mood among American fans is one of fatalist humour. They wouldn’t spell it like that, of course, but they’re struggling to deal with the craft and invention of their European counterparts in the songwriting realm. “YOO ESS AYY” not really competing with an adapted version of the Cranberries that praises Rory McIlroy.”
McIlroy/Lowry face more hostility at Bethpage
20:17 , Lawrence OstlereRory is walking up the fairway by Thomas’s side - not a bad strategy. Behind him, Lowry gives a kind of ‘stop talking’ gesture with his hands at a fan. He is getting hounded.
Meanwhile, JT has missed his birdie chance... Can Young roll one in to pull the Americans one up?
It’s a long putt, 20 feet or so, ooooh, it races by, he could afford to be aggressive, and it stayed right. All square with eight holes to play.

Fleetwood spurns glorious chance against Scheffler/DeChambeau
20:13 , Jack RathbornFleetwood/Rose 1UP vs Scheffler/DeChambeau
Burns with a clutch par putt to salvage the hole after Cantlay’s miss.
All square in the anchor match, seven holes in a row halved.
Another miss for Scheffler, he’s still one down with DeChambeau against Fleetwood/Rose.
Fleetwood lines one up, a glorious birdie chance... MISSED IT. Wild. It looked a certainty that Europe would extend their lead.
Lowry and McIlroy hounded on way to 10th tee as Thomas/Young draw level
20:03 , Lawrence OstlereRory McIlroy/Shane Lowry vs Justin Thomas/Cameron Young A/S
Thomas was again silencing the crowd while the Europeans putted - then beckoned them to make huge noise after Lowry’s putt burnt the edge.
The European pair are booed on the way to the 10th tee as security border them either side.
Lowry miss brings USA level in tense match with Thomas/Young
19:59 , Jack RathbornRory McIlroy/Shane Lowry vs Justin Thomas/Cameron Young A/S
Lowry can’t make birdie on nine, the USA pull level. Huge cheers.
Justin Thomas points to his ear, it’s remarkable. All square heading to the back nine.

Rose hauls Europe into lead over DeChambeau/Scheffler
19:54 , Jack RathbornFleetwood/Rose 1UP vs Scheffler/DeChambeau
Lowry and Young fire darts into nine.
Then Rose walks in a birdie... OH MY!
It started to gather pace and he stood up, out of his stance, the sauce!
Rose gives a fist full to the crowd, a massive putt to flip the contest and putt Europe one up.

JT putt keeps USA in touching distance to McIlroy/Lowry
19:47 , Jack RathbornRory McIlroy/Shane Lowry 1UP vs Justin Thomas/Cameron Young
JT for par... makes it! He just loves that, they stay one down, but it’s feisty, as it has been from the start.
McIlroy and Lowry are going to have to battle here.

Rose counters to level things up against Scheffler/DeChambeau
19:43 , Jack RathbornScheffler/DeChambeau vs Fleetwood/Rose A/S
Fleetwood has a chance at birdie up on the seventh. Rose, too, who has birdied four of the first six holes. 45 years old, what a sensation Rose has been this year.
Rose... in it goes, fist pump, and Donald joins him, that one meant a lot. Birdie three and now we’re all square.

Fourth fourballs match locked in tie at Ryder Cup
19:38 , Jack RathbornSam Burns/Patrick Cantlay vs Tyrrell Hatton/Matt Fitzpatrick A/S
There have been five straight halves in this fourth, anchor contest, which, remember, saw Hatton subbed in late to replace the injured Hovland.

Young drains bomb to counter McIlroy/Lowry as USA crowd erupts
19:30 , Jack RathbornRory McIlroy/Shane Lowry 1UP vs Justin Thomas/Cameron Young
That is quite magnificent, Young with a long, long birdie putt to land a counter haymaker on the Irish pair of McIlroy and Lowry.
And don’t the Americans just love it, the New Yorker has been a superstar on debut.
JT loves it, too, whipping up the crowd even more, pointing to his ear, “I can’t hear you!” he mouths.

McIlroy misses birdie chance to open door for Americans
19:23 , Jack RathbornScheffler/DeChambeau 1UP vs Fleetwood/Rose
