Ryanair updates travel advice and cancellation updates

Ryanair have today updated customers with fresh information regarding the ongoing situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The airline have added a statement on their Twitter page with the latest details and have extended their limited schedule, for the time being, into next week.

Up until now, 99% of the Ryanair's flights have been left grounded as a result of travel bans imposed by countries within the EU.

The company themselves have also previously alluded - without specific confirmation - to the fact that they are not anticipating the return of commercial flights until June at the earliest.

Today, Ryanair said: "We are working with EU Governments to try to keep some minimum flight links open for emergency reasons. We are today (April 14) extending this limited schedule by a week to Thurs 23 Apr."

In a bid to alleviate concerns from passengers, the statement goes on to specify that all of their aircrafts are being disinfected on a daily basis and that social distancing is being optimised on-board.

Despite Jet2 's announcement last week that flights are expected to operate as normal from June 17, Ryanair have demonstrated more caution.

For the time being, Ryanair continue to be bombarded by angry customers on social media who have still yet to see refunds on flights that have already been cancelled.

In an e-mail sent out to customers by their Customer Services department, they said that delays are a result of "an unprecedented high volume of requests".

It continues: "This has been compounded by government public health restrictions on non-essential work travel which means we have less staff available to us during this busy time".
