Ryanair summer 2021 flights from Newcastle, Edinburgh and Manchester are now on sale

Ryanair has released tickets for its summer 2021 flights from airports including Newcastle, Edinburgh and Manchester.

The airline's destinations from Newcastle include Alicante and Palma in Spain.

While it looks unlikely that many - if anyone - will be jetting off on holiday this summer, hopefully the coronavirus situation will have changed in 12 months time.

Those looking to secure the cheapest flights next summer may want to consider booking early, as prices tend to rise as seats are bought, especially for travel during the peak school summer holiday season, although those who are more flexible may be able to get better deals by waiting for a flash sale.

Some passengers may be concerned about buying plane tickets so far in advance, as in these turbulent times there are fears airlines and holiday companies could go bust. Ryanair is still flying and will restore 40% of its services from July 2020, but consider paying with a credit card, as the Consumer Credit Act offers protection for credit card payments of more than £100, which means customers can get their money back from their credit card company if something goes wrong -like an airline folding.

Ryanair flights for travel between May 1, 2021 and October 31, 2021, are now on sale.

Fares from Newcastle include £42.99 flights to Alicante, in mainland Spain and £42.99 tickets to Palma on the Spanish island of Mallorca. Seats to Dublin are available for £21.99

From Edinburgh Airport, Ryanair's summer 2021 fares include £34.99 tickets to Milan-Bergamo and £44.99 tickets to Barcelona, while Ryanair also flies to host of European destinations from Manchester Airport, including Brussels, Faro, Rome, Madrid and Palermo.

Ryanair chief executive Eddie Wilson said: "It is important for our customers and our people that we return to some normal schedules from 1 July onwards.

"Governments around Europe have implemented a four-month lockdown to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

"After four months, it is time to get Europe flying again so we can reunite friends and families, allow people to return to work and restart Europe's tourism industry, which provides so many millions of jobs."
