Ryanair launches summer sale - with fares from Newcastle for £17.99

Ryanair has launched a summer fare sale - after it emerged the airline will be cutting services next year.

Passengers can get up to £40 off return fares for late summer and early autumn travel, based on two adults travelling together, from airports around the UK.

The sale launched on Tuesday night and runs until Wednesday July 31.

Ryanair's Summer deals page says customers can get one-way fares from Newcastle to Palma, Mallorca, for as little as £17.99.

There are seats from Leeds or Edinburgh to Malta from £25.23, while customers can travel from Manchester Airport to Palermo, Sicily, from £22.98.

Ryanair sale tickets can be booked online, here .

Discounts are on offer for travel between Thursday August 1 and Wednesday October 30.

Yesterday, Ryanair confirmed it is set to cut its summer 2020 flights, as the airline is reducing its fleet, due to air travel regulators grounding new Boeing planes.

The delays mean  Ryanair  will be forced to fly just 30 aircraft next summer, down from 58.

It's not yet clear Ryanair's routes from Newcastle airport  will be affected, as it is not one of the airline's hub airports.

The news comes after all Boeing 737 MAX planes were grounded worldwide earlier this year following two fatal crashes in Ethiopia and off the coast of Indonesia.
