Ryanair launches seat sale as Spain confirms Irish tourists can return this summer

Ryanair has launched a seat sale as Spain confirmed tourists will be able to return without a quarantine from July 1.

The Irish airline announced it will operate 40% of its normal flight schedule in July.

Flights will be available to a number of holiday airports in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and Cyprus from the start of the month.

And Ryanair revealed it will mark the return to business with a seat sale for both July and August, with fares from €29.99 one way.

However these seats must be booked by midnight on Thursday, May 28.

And it's not all good news for Irish tourists, with confusion over the Covid-19 guidelines passengers will have to follow.

Spain confirmed on Monday that overseas arrival will not be subject to a mandatory two-week quarantine from July onwards.

But Irish holidaymakers could face further problems on their return home – where quarantine rules remain in place until at least June 18, and pubs and restaurants are closed until August 10.

Travel expert Eoghan Corry expects that September will be the new July, as Irish people will
only feel safe to travel once all restrictions are lifted here.

From that date, visitors will not have to go into quarantine.

Mr Corry told the Irish Mirror: “There will be a slow building up of confidence.

“There’s a lot of people who really want to go but they’re very confused.”
