Plans for a cheap holiday in September have been put on hold for many due to coronavirus restrictions.
Many popular destinations like Spain, France and Portugal are out of bounds for UK tourists, unless they want to quarantine for two weeks when they return.
The UK Government's Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises against all but essential travel to countries unless they are on the travel corridor exemption list. Last week, Denmark and Iceland were among the countries removed from the exemption list.
But there are still some airlines which are flying passengers out to holiday destinations, including EasyJet.
Here, we take a look at the latest flight and holiday updates and cancellations from Jet 2, Thomas Cook, EasyJet, Tui and Ryanair, as reported by our colleagues at Manchester Evening News.
easyJet
EasyJet is still operating some flights to countries on the FCO quarantine list - including to Spain.
This includes flights from Newcastle Airport to Nice and Manchester Airport to Barcelona, Tenerife, Amsterdam, Belfast and Majorca.
EasyJet recently cut its other international routes from Newcastle.
Package holidays to France remain cancelled and the operator says it is keeping other holidays under close review.
But the airline says it acknowledges that customers "may wish to change their travel plans" amid quarantine rules. This includes those travelling to Switzerland and the Czech Republic - also removed from the safe list.
Customers who are booked but no longer wish to travel should be able to transfer their flights to a later date without a change fee.
Jet 2
In its latest update, the tour operator has confirmed that flights and holidays to Budapest, Prague, Paris and the Canary Islands have been suspended further.
Jet 2 trips to Prague and Paris from all UK bases (excluding East Midlands) are suspended up to and including November 23.
While flights and holidays to Budapest from all UK bases (excluding East Midlands) are suspended up to and including November 25.
Those flying from East Midlands to these destinations are now suspended up to and including January 4, 2021.
All flights and holidays to the Canary Islands - Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote are suspended up to and including October 17.
Holidays to Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca have been cancelled for the rest of Summer 2020
While package holidays to Faro in Portugal have been suspended up to and including October 31. However flights to this destination are still available.
Flights to Croatia and Crete have been suspended for the rest of the summer but customers are being given the option to rebook with no admin fee, a refund credit note, or a full cash refund.
Originally, the airline was looking to resume routes towards the end of September, but as the Foreign Office advice hasn't changed, they have extended the cancellations.
A spokesperson for Jet2 said: We are obviously very disappointed to be making this announcement as we know how much our customers have been looking forward to their well-deserved holidays. Where
customers are affected by any programme changes, we have been repeatedly recognised for how we have been looking after them and affected customers will receive a full cash refund.
We can assure our customers and partners that we remain completely committed to these fantastic destinations."
Ryanair
Ryanair is operating 1,000 flights a day and is continuing to fly to destinations that are on the UK quarantine list.
The change in quarantine restrictions hasn't affected most Ryanair flights, with the budget airline advising that the new rules do not mean flights will be cancelled or that customers will be
automatically entitled to a refund.
They have however vowed to waive flight change fees until Spring for those that aren't able to fly as planned.
However demand for air travel has dropped dramatically, and the airline is now running at 40% its usual capacity - and in a bid to boost passenger numbers, they recently announced their first ever
Buy-One-Get-One-Free sale.
Thomas Cook
Holidays and short breaks to Denmark, Iceland and Slovakia have been removed from the Thomas Cook website following Thursday’s travel corridors announcement, the company has confirmed.
The brand re-launched recently as a “Covid-ready” travel company committed to only offering holidays to destinations on the Government’s safe travel corridor list.
A spokesperson for Thomas Cook said: “We’re sad to not be able to sell weekends in Copenhagen, Bratislava or Reykjavik for the time being. There are still plenty of options for great city breaks
and beach holidays and prices at the moment are particularly attractive.”
The company said it is in touch with customers who are booked to travel to Denmark, Iceland and Slovakia in the next two weeks to understand if they still want to travel or switch to a later date
or move destinations. Those who cannot will be able to receive a full refund.
Tui
Tui has axed a large number of holidays to many destinations.
Customers will receive a refund credit code to rebook in the future - alternatively, they can apply for a cash refund.
