Ryanair hack that gets you premium seats on the plane for free

Where the beat seat on the plane is will always be a disputed topic, but one of the top contenders for most people is the beautifully spacious front row.

Despite being near the toilets, you get extra leg space, no row in front of you and you get to be the first one off when the plane lands.

The only downside to the good seats though, is that Ryanair often makes you pay for them.

But deal hunter and Latest Deals co-founder Tom Church has found a sneaky way to almost always end up with one of the best seats on the plane - and it actually involves less effort than usual.

All you have to do to get one of Ryanair's front seats on the plane is check in last minute, just before online check-in closes (usually about two hours before the flight).

That way, there’s greater chance of being randomly allocated one of the premium, expensive seats that have gone unsold!

When testing out the theory himself, Tom said, "On my way to Porto I got 05A, on my way back 01A!"

Usually, the same front row and extra-legroom seats (in rows 1, 2 (seats D,E and F), 16 and 17) will set you back an extra £7 per flight, but often get allocated for free if nobody buys them.

While not confirmed by Ryanair (it is a hack, after all), we've certainly managed this unintentionally ourselves, when checking in late and accidentally ending up with the best seat in the house.

However, if you are travelling as a group or do want to sit next to your friend, it may not be worth the risk, as with only minimal seats left you could end up pretty far away from each other.
