Ryanair flights to Spain latest following quarantine ruling

Ryanair flights are expected to continue as normal despite the government ruling on Scots returning from Spain having to quarantine.

The move - announced last night - means holidaymakers coming home from Spain will have to quarantine for 14 days.

The decision, taken by both the UK and Scottish Governnments, follows a recent spike in coronavirus cases in the country.

TUI have already announced all their flights to the Spanish mainland have been cancelled, however easyJet and Jet2 flights will continue as normal, as it stands.

Ryanair have yet to put out a statement following the ruling, but, all flights - including those scheduled to depart Glasgow Airport for Malaga and Alicante later today (Sunday) - are set to go ahead.

Meanwhile, Ryanair flights due to leave Glasgow Prestwick Airport for Ibiza and Alicante are due to depart as normal today as well.

Nicola Sturgeon has urged Scots to exercise caution over non essential foreign travel, warning: "Having reviewed the latest data earlier today, @scotgov is also reimposing 14 day quarantine for travellers returning from Spain.

"This reinforces the point that these matters are subject to change at short notice and so my advice is to be cautious about non essential foreign travel."
