A Ryanair passenger has described her confusion after their plane couldn't leave because of heat which led to their luggage being removed in order to reduce weight for take-off.
Joanna was on Ryanair flight FR1391 from Thessaloniki to Dublin that was supposed to leave the Greek city at 2:05pm on August 26.
She told Dublin Live that they were delayed and stuck inside the plane for two hours because of the scorching weather.
Joanna said: "The reason for the delay was because of the high temperatures, It was 37C at the time of take off.
"They told us to wait, that they were checking alternative ways and other possible solutions."
The plane eventually took off two hours after schedule but when they arrived, their bags had not followed suit.
She continued: "No one got their luggage. Ryanair told us that our luggage stayed back because they needed to remove the extra weight from the plane in order to lift off.
"They took our details and said that they would post our luggage the following morning (Tuesday).
"That didn't happen and I spent all day contacting them at the number they gave us.
"Sometimes they answered but more often than not, it would ring out."
It wasn't until 8pm on Wednesday, more than 48 hours after the plane flew to the capital, that she received her luggage but that was even a struggle for Joanna.
She added: "They insisted sending it to me on Thursday and I had to argue once again with them to get it before that.
"As well as this, Ryanair had initially told passengers they had to remove our luggage to make the plane lighter.
"But, when I contacted the main department with the online complaint form, they replied to me and apologised about the 'misplacement of luggage'."
In a statement to Dublin Live, a spokesman for Ryanair said that the situation had been "resolved with customers directly".
