Ryanair flight FR1064 declares general emergency shortly after leaving Edinburgh Airport

A Ryanair flight declared a general emergency shortly after leaving Edinburgh Airport.

Flight FR1064 departed the Scottish capital at 12.06pm, around 15 minutes later than scheduled, and was expected to land in Toulouse, France, at around 3.10pm.

However according to Flight Radar it declared a general emergency while heading south towards the border with England.

The plane appeared to be attempting a return to Edinburgh and the flight landed safely in the capital at 2pm.

A spokesperson for Ryanair said: “This flight from Edinburgh to Toulouse (20 Oct) returned to Edinburgh airport shortly after take-off due to a minor tech issue. The aircraft landed normally and to minimise delay, customers boarded a replacement aircraft which departed to Toulouse shortly after.”
