Ryanair, easyJet and Wizz Air flights going from Liverpool Airport this summer

EasyJet, Ryanair and Wizz Air are among the airlines which have announced plans to ramp up their operations next month.

Flying from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, a number of destinations will be on offer for travellers.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office currently advises against non-essential foreign travel.

And Liverpool Airport stressed that all flights are subject to change and subject to border access being granted for all flights.

From June 22, Ryanair is planning to bring back service to Alicante and Malaga and by July 1, Liverpool Airport is anticipating 69 departures per week with Ryanair.

Its subsidiary airline, Lauda will recommence flights to Vienna in August.

easyJet

EasyJet will commence daily service to Belfast from Liverpool from June 15.

A wider programme of flights from Liverpool will recommence from August 1, details of these will be confirmed in the days to come.

Wizz Air

Today (June 4), Wizz Air will launch its and Liverpool Airport's second international route to Varna. Wizz Air is also operating to Budapest.

Loganair

Loganair is currently operating 11 departing flights a week to the Isle of Man.

Blue Air

Blue Air will recommence a twice weekly service to Bucharest from July 1.

Health minister Edward Argar said he hoped people would be able to go on holiday this year.

He told BBC Breakfast: "I'm not going to say a particular date on when that might happen because we will have to be guided by how the disease behaves, controlling any risk of a second wave and controlling the disease.

"I hope that people will be able to go on holiday at some point this year, but I can't make that promise and because I have to be cautious and go with the science and I don't have that forward view yet of how a second wave or otherwise might behave."
