Two members of cabin crew were badly injured when severe turbulence hit a Ryanair flight to Mallorca.
One attendant was thrown against the ceiling, while another was struck by the service trolley they were pushing when the plane was shaken on route to Palma airport on Sunday, according to reports.
Panic broke out on the aircraft carrying around 180 passengers as the weather phenomenon hit as it came into land.
Crew members were standing completing cabin safety checks when the severe jolt of turbulence struck.
No passengers were injured.
Emergency service were scrambled to meet the aircraft, that had flown from the city of Vitoria on the Spanish mainland, after it landed to treat the injured crew members.
A spokesperson for Ryanair said: “"FR4615 from Vitoria to Palma de Mallorca on 21st September experienced some air turbulence prior to landing. The captain called ahead for medical assistance for two cabin crew and the aircraft landed normally.”
The incident took place as a storm front moved over Mallorca.
It comes after nine people were injured and passengers left in tears in June when a Ryanair flight was struck by severe turbulence mid-air over Germany.
The flight, travelling from Berlin to Milan, ran into violent thunderstorms.
Passengers described scenes of chaos with people hurled into the cabin ceiling as the plane was violently buffeted.
