Ryanair cabin crew call off strike planned for Jan 10 and 13

Ryanair cabin crew have called off a strike planned for January 10 and 13.

The unions representing cabin crew in Spain announced that “after more than a year of hard negotiations” they have signed an agreement with the low cost airline.

A statement from the SITCPLA and USO on their Twitter page congratulated “all the workers who have made it possible.”

They added that the agreement guarantees employment stability and also improves labour conditions.

The budget airline suffered a number of strikes last year by pilots and cabin crew, forcing it to cancel hundreds of flights, after the airline recognised unions for the first time in 2017.

A planned strike for January 8 had already been called off to make way for the further talks.

Spain is the airline’s third biggest market, with 13 of its 89 bases in the country, according to the Independent.
