Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary has slammed the UK Government's proposed 14-day quarantine plans, saying they have "no credibility."
And he predicted that the quarantine would be shelved by June.
Speaking on the BBC's Today programme, Mr O'Leary revealed that Ryanair still intend to restart flights from July, despite the UK Government's proposal to introduce a 14-day quarantine for anyone entering the UK, including returning holidaymakers.
The Chief Executive of Ryanair criticised the idea, saying: "It's idiotic and it's un-implementable. You don't have enough police in the UK."
Speaking about the UK transport policy, he added that the UK Government are "making up this stuff as they go along".
Mr O'Leary also emphasised the need for face masks, saying they were the only way for people to travel on mass transport.
His comments come as Ryanair today announced post-tax profits of over €1bn before the coronavirus crisis.
In a report released this morning, the budget airline conceded that 2021 would be a "difficult year" for them.
And they expect passenger numbers to halve this year, down to below 80 million from an initial target of 154 million.
However, a spokesperson revealed the company have a strong cash reserves of more than €4bn.
They added: "Unlike many flag carrier competitors, Ryanair will not request or receive State Aid.
"Consultations about base closures, pay cuts of up to 20%, unpaid leave and up to 3,000 job cuts (mainly pilots and cabin crew) are under way with our people and our unions."
