Ryanair is known for its cheap flights and while it may have fares as low as £9.99 each way in some cases, the budget carrier does charge for some extras - and those costs can quickly add up.
For example, the airline's cabin bag policy means that you'll need to pay if you want to bring a second piece of hand luggage in the cabin, while passengers who want to sit together will need to pay to reserve seating.
Some passengers have tried to find ways around the rules - such as the lad who wore all of his clothes instead of packing them into a second bag. Hilarious, but not exactly a feasible option.
But according to Money Saving Expert, there could be a way for families to save money on those extras - and it all comes down to when you're actually booking your flights and the extras.
In fact, the website found that the handy trick could save families of four up to £100 when booking seat reservations, cabin bags and priority boarding together.
That's because when you book your flights, Ryanair offers a choice between a Regular or a Value fare.
The Regular fare, approximately £20.85pp per flight, allows you to reserve a seat, get priority boarding and have two cabin bags.
However, Money Saving Expert explained: "But we've found that opting for the 'Value' fare instead, then manually adding seat reservations, cabin bags and priority boarding, can often slash the cost.
"In one case, we found a family of four could save almost £100 on return flights simply by booking the extras separately."
It is worth noting that the trick won't work every time - in some cases, the Regular fare works out at better value, and it does depend on which extras you're particularly after.
Still, it's worth checking the difference before you book, in case you could bag a saving.
