Ryanair app and website down as passengers unable to check in or book flights

Ryanair passengers will unable to check in or book flights until 2am as the airline's website and app are being upgraded.

Web users are instead left with a message which reads: "Our site is currently down for maintenance."

Those on the app are told they'll be unable to use the services until 2am due to "an upgrade".

Angry tourists have hit out at the budget airline on Twitter .

Many of these hope to check in for flights leaving tomorrow.

"I'm trying to check in for a flight tomorrow but your site is down, how can I check in," reads one message.

"How do I check in online if both your website and app is down?" says another.

"Website and App are down and I cant book my flights?!

"No way to contact you at all?! Fuming," one woman posted.

It is unclear what the upgrade exactly entails.
