Ryan Tubridy's RTE listeners 'spat out tea laughing' at hysterical bad neighbour story

Ryan Tubridy's listeners "spat out their tea" laughing at a hysterical bad neighbour story on Tuesday morning.

The RTE host shared the unfortunate anecdote from a Twitter user who lived next door to a saxophone player "who would quite literally not stop playing the same piece of music all day every day".

And fortunately for us, the woman decided one day to record the cacophony through the walls of her apartment.

Tubs told listeners on his RTE Radio One morning show: "To the credit or in defence of the sax player in this piece, he or she is clearly learning.

"But the problem is if you live with, or live next door to, someone who is learning an instrument, we can't escape your efforts.

"And if you're only OK at it, we can't escape your torture. And if it's a violin or a fiddle, it's torture.

"But if it's a saxophone, it's another level of torture altogether.

"So this poor person is sitting there thinking; 'I'll just have a little read now for an hour, a nice cup of tea, and maybe half a packet of fig rolls, I don't know but I'm just going to relax.'"

Ryan went on to share the horrific attempted rendition of the iconic Pink Panther theme tune, much to the dismay of his listeners.

He added with a laugh: "So look, if you're having a nice relaxing time today know that you're not living next door to someone trying to learn the theme for the Pink Panther, so that's a good news story."

And the hilarious story provoked a huge reaction, with one listener writing in to say they "spat their tea out" after hearing the saxophone solo.

They wrote: "I just spat out my tea listening to the Pink Panther, very funny Ryan, the poor woman, but oh man that is funny."

Tubs added: "Well sometimes you just hear something and you think God, you can't help yourself, sometimes other people's pain is just a riot."
