Ryan Tubridy's Arsene Wenger interview leaves Late Late Show viewers fuming

Arsene Wenger was a high-profile guest on The Late Late Show tonight as the former Arsenal manager answered Ryan Tubridy's questions over a video call.

Wenger is busy promoting his new book, 'My Life in Red', which offers a personal account of his time in charge of the famous North London club.

Tubridy raised topics such as the Arsenal rivalry with Manchester United and their former captain Roy Keane, as well as Thierry Henry's infamous handball which denied Ireland a place at the 2010 World Cup and sent Wenger's native France through.

GAA legends Henry Shefflin and Colm Cooper also sent in their questions for the decorated former Arsenal boss.

However, some viewers took to Twitter to make it clear they felt underwhelmed by the line of questioning from the show's presenter.

One said: "Obvious from Tubb’s interview with the legendary Arsene Wenger that nobody on the LLS team bothered to read the autobiography, I like Tubridy but that was offensive to both Wenger and the audience. #LateLateShow"

While another chimed in: "Ryan Tubridy asking Arsene Wenger about the Henry handball and then asks what he thinks of the Irish fans, possibly the cringest interview I've ever seen #LateLateShow"

Another unimpressed tweeter said: "Wenger on Late Late Show and Tubridy asks him about a handball 11 years ago... #LateLateShow"

One viewer felt Wenger should have been asked about Dundalk's upcoming Europa League clashes with his former club.

They tweeted: "If Tubridy wanted to talk about Ireland with Wenger, why didn't he bring up Dundalk vs Arsenal in the Europa? Would have been interested on his take on the Irish game. Pathetic excuse of an interview. Wasted."

While another wrote: "Tubridy asking Wenger about Henry’s handball and how “phenomenal” the Irish supporters are....embarrassing #LateLateShow"

A fellow disgruntled viewer added: "Cringe questions from Tubridy yet again. What a wasted chance to ask Wenger some interesting questions. #LateLateShow"
