Ryan Tubridy has responded after he allegedly called US TV show host Conan O'Brien a 'sociopath'.
The RTE star has made it no secret that he is a big fan of his fellow chat show host O'Brien who remains one of the biggest TV stars in the US.
And this year Tubs interviewed Conan via Zoom for the Late Late Show which prompted Conan to mention Tubs on his hit podcast in recent days.
During the podcast Conan made reference to Tubs saying that he was fond of him but joked that the RTE star had referred to him as a sociopath.
Lifting the lid on the incident Tubs confirmed on his RTE Radio 1 show that it was in fact true, but that it was a joke between the two chat show gurus.
Naturally a fellow listener of both Ryan's radio show and Conan's podcast heard the story and couldn't help but ask Tubs about it.
Ryan received a text from one of his listeners which he read out on air saying: "Did you hear Conan O'Brien mention you on his podcast? He said you are a lovely guy but said that you accused him of being a sociopath.
Responding to the text Tubs said: "I did weirdly because I listen to it anyway and sure enough he did say that.
"He conducted and interview with me and I had jokingly, I think it was off-air, referred to him as a sociopath and we laughed about that.
"So it was all said in good humour but he got the joke."
