Ryan Tubridy has set off on his long awaited trip to Iceland during his break from radio and TV.
The top RTE broadcaster wrapped up the final Late Late Show episode of the season on Friday night, with a special show to celebrate the long running show’s 60th anniversary.
He has also been noticeably missing from the airwaves on his morning chat show on radio 1 this week - but has since been spotted in the airport ready to set off for his dream trip to Iceland.

And it seems he has pulled out all the stops for the long awaited holiday to the nordic island - having met with one of his favourite Icelandic authors, Ragnar Jónasson.
Posting a picture with the presenter, Jónasson said: “Great to meet Ryan Tubridy in Iceland - he’ll be back for @icelandnoir.”
Speaking before he wrapped up TV for the season, Tubridy said: "I'm looking forward to taking a breather.
“I think it's really good to get away from people in terms of listeners and viewers, just to give them a break from you because it's healthy.”
Lifting the lid on his plans, the 48-year-old father-of-two added: "So, I will drift off and I will go to the West of Ireland, and I might travel further afield as well because I've always wanted to visit Iceland.
“In the last couple of years, I've read everything to do with Icelandic, you know, noir thrillers, and I've become a little obsessed,” the self confessed book nerd went on.

"So, I want to go over. I won’t sample their cuisine, which is fermented shark and pickled herrings and stuff like that. But I will chance a beer or two.
"I'm going to go to Iceland for sure and maybe one or two other places. Look it's post-pandemic, I'm ready to rock and roll."
Oliver Callan, who regularly fills in for Ryan during his time off, has stepped in for this week.
He revealed that Ryan would be off air all week while he enjoys a summer holiday.
The comedian said: "Good morning everyone, it is Oliver Callan here in for Ryan all this week as he takes a break.
"So I am here to keep you company until 10 o'clock this morning."
