Ryan Thomas 'still in trouble' with Lucy Mecklenburgh after secretly buying new house

Ryan Thomas has confessed he's "bitten off more than he can chew", with a new house he purchased without the say of his fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh.

The former Coronation Street actor admitted he's still "in trouble" with his partner, after surprising her with a house in Manchester earlier this year.

While it initially seemed his surprise had paid off, despite Lucy not getting to look at it before hand, he's now confessed she wasn't entirely happy about it.

But more than that, they are not close to moving into the house due to the amount of work that needs doing to it.

Ryan Thomas has confessed he's "bitten off more than he can chew", with a new house he purchased (ITV)

Confessing it's currently a building site, Ryan is struggling to "see a light at the end of the tunnel" - but he hopes very soon they can make it work.

Speaking on Lorraine on Friday, he revealed all and said: "I’m still in trouble today. We’re not even in the house yet.

"It’s a building site. I can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. Eventually it’ll be ok, but right now...

Lorraine then asked Lucy if Ryan was still in trouble, as she appeared behind Ryan on camera with their baby son Roman (ITV)

"Everyone knows moving house is hard work, I’ve taken on more than I can chew with the house, but eventually we’ll be happy."

Host Lorraine Kelly then asked Lucy if Ryan was still in trouble, as she appeared behind Ryan on camera with their baby son Roman, now a year old.

Lucy tilted her hand as if to say it's half and half, before laughing it off.

Ryan also discussed whether he would return to Coronation Street (ITV)

Ryan also discussed whether he would return to Coronation Street, where he played Jason Grimshaw between 2006 and 2016.

He said to host Lorraine: "I do miss Corrie. It’s the people more than anything else, I miss them all very much. It was a big part of my life for so long, it’s an amazing memory to have."

Ryan is about to embark on a new project that will see him aim to walk 10 marathons in 10 days from London to Manchester, to raise money for mental health charity CALM.

Ryan revealed: "I’ve been doing a lot of walking through lockdown, I just wanted to give myself a purpose, a reason behind keeping fit and looking after myself.

"Being in the public eye, you can raise awareness… People are suffering with mental health and I want to play a part."

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
