Ryan Taylor answers Newcastle United questions and reveals future plans

Ryan Taylor has revealed he would like to pursue a career in coaching - and admits it would be a dream to return to Newcastle United in some capacity.

The 36-year-old made more than 100 appearances for Newcastle between 2009 and 2015.

Taylor joined the Magpies from Wigan Athletic and was part of the side that won the Championship in 2009-10 to get the club back in the Premier League.

Unfortunately, his time at St James' Park was marred by serious injuries and he spent more than two years out of action.

After leaving Newcastle, he went on to play for Hull City, Port Vale, Indian Super League side ATK, Fleetwood Town and, most recently, non-League Colne.

On Friday, Taylor answered questions about his playing days on Instagram.

Despite his injury problems, he looks back on his time with Newcastle as the best of his career.

Taylor named Allan Saint-Maximin as his favourite player from the current crop of stars, and predicted Steve Bruce's team to finish between 10th and 12th in the league this season.

Alan Shearer is his favourite Newcastle player of all time, with Hatem Ben Arfa the best he played alongside.

He also picked out Fabricio Coloccini as the most underrated player he played with, and says Alan Pardew was the best Newcastle manager he worked under.

Taylor also opened up about his own personal aspirations. Asked what his plans for the future were, he replied: "Coaching/management".

When asked if that might include managing Newcastle one day, he said: "We can only dream mate, can't we? It would take a lot of hard work to get there but I'll try."

Later on, he was asked if he would return to Newcastle in a coaching role.

"If the opportunity ever came of course I would love to," said Taylor.
