Ryan Tannehill trade makes Dolphin potential suitor for Josh Rosen, top pick

The Arizona Cardinals sit atop the 2019 NFL draft with the potential to either trade the No. 1 overall pick for a haul of draft picks or the possibility of trading quarterback Josh Rosen if they decide they want to take Kyler Murray first overall. They have not openly shopped Rosen and have not publicly said what their plans are for the first overall pick but if they wish to make a deal, the Miami Dolphins could now be in the market as a partner.

The Dolphins traded quarterback Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans, leaving them without a starting quarterback on their roster. They need to sign, draft or trade for a player to start at quarterback in 2019, unless they view Jake Rudock and Luke Falk and their combined five NFL pass attempts as potential starters.

Since the Cardinals have been rumored to be interested in drafting Kyler Murray and trading Josh Rosen, Miami has been a team linked to them. Miami has the 13th overall pick only one first-round selection. It would be difficult to trade up to No. 1 overall but they could use a draft pick to acquire Rosen.

Whether Miami has any interest is a different story, although not having any starting quarterback should heighten their interest.

We will see in the coming weeks in what direction Miami goes and whether any reports come out of talks between the Cardinals and Dolphins.
