Ryan Switzer’s job appears safe with the Steelers

Last season the entire Pittsburgh Steelers offense took a huge hit when quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was injured. But there might not be a skill player who suffered more than wide receiver Ryan Switzer. The entire situation was compounded by injuries that cut his season short.

But Roethlisberger is back, as is Switzer and the speedy wide receiver is looking to get his spot back. And after hearing head coach Mike Tomlin speak on Wednesday it sounds like Switzer will get his chance.

Tomlin talked about the experience Switzer brings and the time he has to carve out his role. Switzer joined the Steelers in 2018 and had some success. He caught 38 passes, an impressive feat when you consider Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster each caught more than 100 that season.

Switzer was also a part-time running back and return man that season. We aren’t sure what Switzer’s role will be this season but he could find himself getting some sneaky numbers out of the slot with all those weapons around him.
