Celtic's move for Ryan Sessegnon has been thrown in doubt as the finances of the deal are proving 'problematic'.
The Hoops made an official approach for the Tottenham youngster as they look for a new left-back five days before the transfer window closes.
But Sky Sports claim that a potential deal is unlikely as Sessegnon appears to be too expensive for the Hoops.
The 20-year-old moved from Spurs to Fulham last summer for £25million, but has failed to break into Jose Mourinho's side.
Multiple Premier League clubs are also said to be interested in signing Sessegnon.
Celtic are desperate for a left-back to provide competition for Greg Taylor.
The same report also states Neil Lennon will go back in for Alfie Doughty before the October 5 deadline, despite having two bids for the Charlton rising star knocked back.
