Ryan Sessegnon speaks out on a tough start to his Spurs career and realising a childhood dream

Spurs fans will want to see a lot more of Ryan Sessegnon over the coming weeks following his role in their 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday evening.

Coming on for his debut in the final minute of Sunday's 1-1 draw against Everton, the 19-year-old was this time given 15 minutes as he replaced Son Heung-min with the team three goals to the good.

He did have a big an impact in his short time on the pitch as he teed up Christian Eriksen to put the seal on a fantastic result for the team at such a tough place to go and win.

Speaking to Spurs after the vital victory, the ex-Fulham man opened up on his first few months at the club after signing on the dotted line in August while injured due to a hamstring issue he picked up in the summer.

"It's good and I'm forever grateful," he said. "It's wasn't easy coming to the club injured, I've had to work hard to get back where I am now.

"Credit to the medical staff here as they've brought me back now and I'm raring to go and to get ready.

"Every opportunity I get I want to take. I'm grateful to the manager, the boys and staff for welcoming me to the club.

"I just want to keep repaying them with good performances."

Having started off his career with Fulham in the Championship, the player has now managed to realise one of his childhood dreams by playing in Europe's top competition.

"Champions League debut was one of my childhood dreams," he added. "To do that was a fantastic feeling for me and I just want to kick on and keep playing games.

"I knew if I was to come on I wanted to impact the game whether that be a goal, assist, nice touches and nice play.

"Thankfully I did that today and hopefully I can use that as a boost for the upcoming games."
