Ryan Sessegnon's first words after completing deadline day Tottenham loan exit

Ryan Sessegnon has been speaking about his transfer deadline day loan move from Tottenham to Hoffenheim.

The 20-year-old has joined the German Bundesliga side for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.

The £25million signing from Fulham had not featured for Spurs under Jose Mourinho this term.

His first-team opportunities were likely to be limited following the recent arrival of left-back Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.

Now, Sessegnon will be looking to establish himself with Hoffenheim, who are next in action after the international break at home to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, October 17.

In a video interview with his new club, the England Under-21 international said: "Hello, it's Ryan Sessegnon here and I'm very happy to play for TSG Hoffenheim.

"First and foremost, thank you very much for welcoming me to this club.

"I'm very excited to get going.

"It's a club that produces young players into big players, in one of the most competitive leagues in the world.

"So I'm very happy to be here and can't wait to get going."

Asked what the Hoffenheim fans can expect from him, Sessegnon replied: "I would say they can expect a lot of energy on the left side - up and down, creating goals, scoring goals, being aggressive as well, off the ball, being energetic and using my pace as well to get in behind and hurt teams, and using it to defend as well. So they can expect that."
