Ryan Sessegnon fitness update and when he could make his Spurs debut

Tottenham summer signing Ryan Sessegnon is expected to return to full first team training sometime after the international break.

The 19-year-old was a deadline day arrival from Fulham, but is yet to make his Spurs debut due to a hamstring injury he picked up while on international duty with England U21s over the summer.

As revealed by football.london , the teenager is undergoing the final stages of his conditioning ahead of a return to full training over the international break.

However, despite getting close to fitness, Sessengnon may not make his debut right away in order to give him time to work with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Sessegnon played his Premier League season last term, making 35 appearances for relegated Fulham, scoring two goals.

The left sided player mainly found himself operating in the left midfield position, although he can play any position down the left side.

The England U21 international could find himself used as an impact substitute for Pochettino over the coming weeks, should the Spurs boss feel that he needs speed on the pitch.

Mauricio Pochettino makes FIFA The Best shortlist

Tottenham host Crystal Palace in the first fixture after the international break, before their Champions League campaign starts the following Wednesday away at Olympiacos. While he will be back in training by then, Sessegnon may have to wait until the visit of Leicester City, or the League Cup tie against Colchester to make his debut in a Spurs shirt.
