Ryan Reynolds shares new Once Upon a Deadpool trailer and fans are loving it

A first look at new film Once Upon a Deadpool has finally been unveiled.

Proving he truly is everyone’s favourite anti-superhero, Ryan Reynolds has teased a first look at the upcoming film, pegged as a “PG” version of the crude superhero films.

Reynolds’ alter-ego can be seen explaining the concept of the film to American actor Fred Savage.

He says: “You’re in a PG-13 version of Deadpool. Filtered, for the prison of childlike innocence. And nobody does childlike innocence like you Fred, nobody.

“I need you almost as much as you need me.”

A sassy Savage then hits back: “I don’t need you.”

To which a witty Reynolds responds: “You need me to untie you after we’re done.”

Teasing the film’s release, 42-year-old Reynolds tweeted: “It’s not kidnapping. I like to think of it as, ‘unsolicited location enhancement’ #OnceUponADeadpool.”

The film also teases references to other PG films, such as Pixar’s 2009 animation of Up.

Excited fans were quick to declare their anticipation ahead of the movie’s release.

One user wrote: “Shut up and take my money.”

Another commented: “Is there an emoji for jazz hands? That's how excited I am about this.”

A third added: “This will be considered a classic one day.”

The trailer comes days after Reynolds shared a first look at Detective Pikakchu, in which he voices the adorable Pokemon character.

Fans hailed the Canadian actor a “king” and joked it was the “role [he] was born to play”.

Once Upon a Deadpool is believed to hit cinemas for one night only on December 11, a day before it hits screens in America.
