Ryan Reynolds pays tribute to 'utterly beloved' Jason Turner after Wrexham beat Notts County

Hollywood star and Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds paid tribute to late Notts County chief executive Jason Turner after today's crunch National League game at the Racecourse Ground.

Turner died suddenly last month aged 50, with the club and its supporters shaken by the devastating news. And speaking after Wrexham beat Notts County 3-2 on Easter Monday, Reynolds had some warm words for both Turner and the Magpies.

"I feel an immense sense of pride," Reynolds told BT Sport after the game. "The inner strength that these guys have - it's such a mental game, clearly. They rose to the occasion in every way.

"But also what makes it so special is how powerful, special and unique Notts County is. They're the real story here. What they've done this season... obviously losing their CEO Jason Turner, who as I've grown to know and learn was utterly beloved. Not just in Notts, but here as well.

"I have such enormous respect for everything that they've built and they've done. It's just insane to me that, in this league, one [team] goes up automatically.

"If it were different - and I think it should be - both of these clubs would be celebrating together right now. What they've done is not only created drama unlike anything you'd ever see in a movie, but just something I think people will be talking about for ages.

"The fact this much attention has come upon the National League in this way is incredibly special and immensely worth of the talents of Wrexham and Notts County. What they've done is so special, so unique."
