Ryan Reynolds makes sure his new film Red Notice comes with Welsh subtitles

Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds has had a Welsh subtitles option included in his new blockbuster film.

The star, who is the owner of Wrexham Football Club together with fellow US actor Rob McElhenney, stars in brand new Netflix film called Red Notice, co-starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Gal Gadot.

And in a nod to the people of Wrexham, he made sure that Welsh subtitles were available for the film, which broke Netflix's record for most views on the day of release.

Reynolds, wearing a Wrexham scarf and gloves, spoke about the inclusion of the subtitles on a video posted on Twitter by Netflix. He joked: "I personally can't stand those celebrities who take advantage of filming opportunities to promote their personal interests.

"Many critics are raving about the film and it will be subtitled in Welsh for my friends in Wrexham."

The film, set in the world of international crime, tells the story of an Interpol agent who attempts to hunt down and capture the world's most wanted art thief. A 5x3 metre cinema screen mounted to the back of an Ifor Williams trailer was taken around the area of The Racecourse displaying an unseen clip from the new film.

The actor visited Wrexham for the first time in October, attending their home game against Torquay United, whilst getting to know the north Wales town. The actors have previously announced a Netflix series chronicling their journey with the club.
