Ryan Reynolds' blockbuster Red Notice given Welsh subtitles after star buys Wrexham FC

A blockbuster Hollywood movie starring Ryan Reynolds has sub-titles in Welsh...after the actor bought Wrexham football team.

Red Notice has been launched on Netflix with Welsh language subtitles in a move which has delighted fans.

Reynolds, the Wrexham AFC co-owner, stars in the action comedy alongside Gal Gadot and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Wrexham AFC fan Danny Williams said: “Just watching film Red Notice, and I see he has had Welsh subtitles been made available on Netflix. Nice touch.”

Reynolds plays renowned art thief, Nolan Booth, who teams up with FBI agent, John Hartley, played by Johnson, in order to catch the criminal, Sarah Black, who is played by Gadot.

The Deadpool star took over at Wrexham partner by fellow movie star Rob McElhenney- and both visited to watch the team play as they make a TV series about the takeover.

Reynolds revealed that Red Notice broke Netflix’s record for most views on the day of release.

The film debuted on the streaming service on Friday 12 November.

Writing on Twitter, Reynolds said: ‘WOW #RedNotice is @Netflix biggest ever opening day for a film. Congrats to this whole team!’
