Ryan Reynolds' and Rob McElhenney's video about their new Welsh documentary is the best thing you'll see today

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have released a hilarious teaser of a documentary series that will follow their takeover of Wrexham FC.

In the video, the Hollywood actors are seen being brutally mocked by a Welsh translator while announcing the two-season access all areas documentary which will be aired about the duo's decision to take control of the club which was completed in February.

During the two-minute video, Deadpool actor Reynolds and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator and star McElhenney are seen standing on a stage along with a Maxine, described simply as their Welsh translator.

But after introducing the docu-series, named Welcome to Wrexham, set in the "working class town in north Wales in the United Kingdom", things start to go downhill for the pair.

Asked to translate the fact that Reynolds and McElhenney are now owners of the club, and thought it was appropriate for Welsh fans to have a translator, Maxine goes off script to say: "The tall skinny one does films and the muscular ones sells cream cheese from Philadelphia or something."

Questioned further about her translation, Maxine tells her Welsh viewers: "There is no way these two can manage a football club. And the one with the toupée thinks Wales is in Scotland .

"Neither of these men have ever pleased their wives sexually. They will both die alone in their mansions gripped fiercely by the cold, indifferent embrace of pure loneliness."

Later in the video both stars are seen with players and fans of the club, while Deadpool makes an appearance among crowds celebrating.

And judging by the comments on the video so far, it's going to go down well.

Commenting on the video on Reynolds' YouTube channel, one viewer said: "As a Welsh person, I can confirm she translated exactly what they said, word for word."

Another added: "It’s so refreshing to hear a North Welsh accent and dialect on a platform as big as this. We don’t get enough mainstream representation."

And a third said: "As someone from around north Wales, all I can say is thanks for showing the world this amazing place! Diolch yn fawr lads."

The documentary was filmed at the Racecourse Ground, home of Wrexham RFC (Ian Cooper/North Wales Live)

According to Wrexham FC, from Hollywood to Wales, the pitch to the changing room, the front office to the pub, Welcome to Wrexham will track Rob and Ryan’s crash course in football club ownership and the "inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some much-needed hope and change".

Produced by FX Entertainment, it will be executive produced by McElhenney, Reynolds, Nick Frenkel and John Henion.

But it's not the first video the pair have made about their shock decision to buy the world's third oldest club.

Shortly after the deal was announced, Wrexham posted a video on their official Twitter account, with Reynolds and McElhenney performing a skit in a spoof advertising video for Ivor Williams Trailers - Wrexham's team sponsor.

"Not sure what to get your special someone this holiday?" McElhenney starts off.

"Tired of them opening the same old scarf or sweater? Try Ivor Williams.... Trailers."

The pair continue their spiel, listing the virtues of Ivor Williams Trailers, such as the firm being Britain's leading trailer manufacturer for the past 60 years.

Speaking about the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX Entertainment, said: “Rob McElhenney has been an all star on Team FX for years and now has partnered with the formidable Ryan Reynolds to bring glory to the ‘Red Dragons’ in the docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham.

“Rob and Ryan will take fans inside the sport as never before, pairing their genuine love for the game with the welcome challenge of building on the heritage of this club."
