Ryan Ramczyk returns on first Saints injury report vs. Falcons in Week 18

Week 18’s initial New Orleans Saints injury report brought a series of status updates on various players working their way back, though their list more than doubled that of the opposing Atlanta Falcons.

The biggest news is the return of right tackle Ryan Ramczyk, who practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. He had been on the COVID-19 list and missed the previous seven games with a knee injury. Getting him back in the lineup for the regular season finale would be huge. Three other Saints players were limited in practice: wide receivers Tre’Quan Smith (chest) and Ty Montgomery (back), as well as running back Mark Ingram II (knee).

Four other Saints did not participate in Wednesday’s practice session due to injuries, which is ominous for their status in Week 18. Left tackle Terron Armstead (knee) missed more time, as did cornerback Bradley Roby (shoulder) and new additions in defensive back P.J. Williams (ankle) and defensive end Marcus Davenport (ankle). We’ll see if their status improves in the days ahead.

And the important news out of Atlanta is that star tight end Kyle Pitts was held out of practice with a hamstring issue, having limped out of last week’s game after breaking Julio Jones’ rookie receiving yards record. Here’s the full Wednesday injury report from each team:
