Ryan Porteous OUT of Celtic clash as Hibs star hit with three game ban for Christian Ramirez incident

Hibs defender Ryan Porteous has been hit with a retrospective ban for kicking out at Christian Ramirez.

Hibs edged Aberdeen out 1-0 in Shaun Maloney's first game in charge after Porteous grabbed the only goal of the game.

But there was fury towards the Scotland cap for aiming an apparent kick at Ramirez when the two were on the deck in the second half.

It was missed at the time but Ramirez flagged up the incident with a video on social media.

And Hibs have now confirmed the SFA have reviewed the footage, handing Porteous with a three-game ban as a result.

He will miss clashes with Celtic, Cove Rangers and Motherwell after the winter break.

A Hibs statement read: "Ryan Porteous has been handed a three-match ban following an incident against Aberdeen.

"The defender, who scored the winning goal in the game, has been penalised for an incident involving Christian Ramirez.

"The incident was reviewed by the SFA and has seen Porteous receive a punishment of a three-match ban.

"That means the defender will miss our next three games; Celtic on Monday 17 January, Cove Rangers on Thursday 20 January, and Motherwell on Wednesday 26 January."
