Hibs have opened contract talks with Ryan Porteous.
The Easter Road outfit want to extend the defender’s contract.
Porteous’s existing deal is up in the summer of 2023.
Hibs are keen to extend that and protect the value of one of their prize assets.
The 22-year-old has already attracted multiple bids in recent windows from the likes of English sides Queen’s Park Rangers and Millwall.
Porteous has made another strong start to the season with Hibs, although he is now about to start a suspension after his red card at Rangers.
Porteous was red carded for a tackle on Joe Aribo and although Hibs appealed that decision the Scottish Football Association threw that out.
Porteous will now be suspended for the upcoming games against Dundee United and Aberdeen.
Hibs have already moved to get some of their top players on new deals.
Australian international Martin Boyle penned a new long-term deal, after a strong push from Aberdeen.
They are also in talks with Scotland cap Kevin Nisbet to give him improved terms.
Manager Jack Ross confirmed that a few weeks ago.
Nisbet, who was in the Scotland squad for last night’s trip to the Faroes, has had a dramatic rise since his move from Dunfermline to Hibs in the summer of 2020.
