Former Hibs striker Tam McMcManus has branded referee Nick Walsh "disgraceful" for sending off Ryan Porteous against Rangers.
The defender was shown a straight red card by Nick Walsh as he flew into a challenge on Joe Aribo.
The incident sparked some debate on social media over whether the centre-back had got the ball, with his leg high in a wild looking challenge.
However, the former Easter Road attacker says he didn't deserve to be given his marching orders.
McManus took to Twitter stating: "A absolutely disgraceful decision from Nick Walsh get in the bin honestly. Wins the ball cleanly. Shocking."
The pundit later double down on the claim, implying his previous against Rangers impacted on the decision.
He went on: "Because he smashed Barisic (bad tackle) about two years ago he gets a red for winning the ball. No other player on the park gets sent off for that bar him."
However, Neil McCann insisted the whistler had no choice but to give Porteous his marching orders.
McCann told Rangers TV: "Unfortunately Ryan at 22 years old, Ryan has got a switch where he just sees red.
"He knows he has done wrong there but he can't recover it.
"It's over it (the ball). He probably wins the ball with his hamstring, but he is trying to Joe Aribo there.
"I would like to see the switch removed from his game. He is actually a really nice young man, but on the pitch a nasty streak comes out.
"I like a nasty streak, but he needs to control it. He could have given Joe Aribo a really bad one there."
