Ryan Moon: South African striker plays as a trialist for Hibs against Arbroath

South African striker Ryan Moon came on as a second half trialist for Hibs during tonight’s friendly away at Arbroath.

The 22-year-old was formerly with Kaizer Chiefs in his homeland, having joined them from Martizburg Utd in 2016.

Moon played 18 times for the Chiefs in all competitions last campaign, scoring twice. Overall he netted six times in 42 appearances for his former club.

Paul Heckingbottom has already added Chris Doidge to his attacking options after his £250,000 move from Forest Green Rovers, but needs variety and options up front to ease the load on Flo Kamberi , who until recently only had Oli Shaw for help.

Moon came on as a second half sub along with Shaw and Kamberi at Gayfield after Doidge had missed a first half penalty, and will be hoping he can do enough in the near future to at least extend his trial, if not win a deal at Easter Road.

He didn't harm his chances by heading home a late goal form close range.
