Ryan Moon: Hibs trialist to get another chance to impress against Dunfermline

Hibs trialist Ryan Moon will get another chance to impress in tomorrow’s friendly away at Dunfermline.

The South African striker was a second half substitute in Tuesday night’s 3-2 friendly defeat to Arbroath at Gayfield.

The ex-Kaizer Chiefs forward netted a late header from close range with the score a 3-1.

Paul Heckingbottom will take another look at the 22-year-old as he ponders how to strengthen his strength in depth up front.

Of the five new players brought in at Easter Road so far this window, only Chris Doidge is a striker and further reinforcements are needed.

Flo Kamberi and Oli Shaw were the only two constants last season after Jamie Maclaren left midway through the season before Marc McNulty’s arrival.

If a deal can be done to bring McNulty back, Hibs are open to it, but it would likely have to be another loan given the arrival and outlay on Doidge as well as the potential fee Reading would seek to sell the striker.

Adam Jackson, Scott Allan, Joe Newell, Tom James and Chris Maxwell are the other new arrivals at the club so far.
