Ryan McMullan to launch new EP live with an Instagram session this Friday

Northern Irish breakthrough star Ryan McMullan is set to launch his new EP, Ruthless Cupid, this Friday.

The launch will coincide with the singer-songwriter performing a live session on Belfast Live's Instagram account on the same day.

The session will involve the Portaferry singer playing his new EP in full - meaning this will be your first chance to hear some brand new music from the star.

He'll also be hosting a live Q&A and answering some questions from his fans.

At the start of the year, Ryan released the first single from his new EP, also titled 'Ruthless Cupid.'

Speaking ahead of the EP launch, he explained some of the background for the EP: "These songs reflect a handful of times where it felt like Cupid has been toying with me. Amusing himself by throwing me into situations where I’m either out of my depth, hoping for reconciliation, or unable to escape the truth that even at the end, I’m still holding on to even the worst of my attempts at love."

Now, the Portaferry singer is ready to share these songs with the world. And, despite having to cancel several tour dates because of Coronavirus precautions, fans will be happy to learn that he's safe at home, where he's been getting by in isolation.

"I was away at the worst time but luckily got home," he told us. "It’s been a strange time. On the one hand I have the time to be creative, but on the other hand, my head is full of how to avoid coronavirus and avoid spreading or carrying it and also how to just survive. So it’s a weird time. I’m just taking it day by day like most people."

To the everyone whose supported him along the way, Ryan has said that he's ready to hit the ground running once all this passes, with plenty more live shows and even an album on the way.

"I’m so grateful for the support," he told us. "To everyone who believes in me and what I’m trying to achieve, I promise I’ll be back asap! And hopefully with an album ready to go, with another on the way. I really want to thank everyone for their patience."

Ryan McMullan will be hosting a live session on Belfast Live's Instagram account on Friday, April 10 at 7.30pm. You can find our Instagram here.
