An Irish music star has been forced to cancel his much-anticipated show in Derry due to damage caused by the weather.
Ryan McMullan is being hailed as a new exciting Irish music star, and is fast making a name for himself as a talented singer and songwriter.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions Ryan has missed out on opportunities to tour, and excitement was high for his Ebrington Square gig on Wednesday evening.
However, due to high winds, the marquee established in Ebrington Square has been severely damaged and safety measures have meant that the concert had to be cancelled.
Ryan uploaded a video to his Twitter to announce this unexpected cancellation.
In the video, he said: "Tonight's show in Derry has been cancelled. We were in the car ready to leave and got a phone call to hear that the winds have ruined the marquee so we cannot do the show.
"If it is not one thing it is another. Woke up this morning, everyone did their tests for COVID, everybody is negative, we were all ready to go and excited and then we find out this.
"I'm so sorry, I know everybody made plans. I do not want to cancel, I promise if we could do the show in any way I promise we would.
In a statement sent out to ticketholders, ticket provider Skiddle stated that they will be in touch with ticket holders regarding refunds which will be processed automatically to the card originally paid with.
