Ryan Kerrigan calls Trent Williams the ‘best tackle in the game’

The Washington Redskins opened up the 2019 season with Day 1 of training camp on Thursday, and the team finally got together on the same field to play the game they love.

Well, there was at least one person missing.

Left tackle Trent Williams was absent on Thursday, as was expected, while he continues his holdout that stemmed from a discontent with the team’s medical staff, and also may have something to do with contract negotiations.

While it was no surprise that the pro bowler was not in attendance on Day 1, his absence was still felt. Ryan Kerrigan, the elite edge rusher for the Redskins, remarked that Williams is one of the best players in the games, and one could assume that he is hoping to see his teammate again soon.

It was also reported by ESPN’s John Keim that in Williams’ absence, newly acquired LT Ereck Flowers was taking the starting reps at the position, and well…let’s just say that the team is hopeful for Williams’ eventual return.

If and when we see the veteran LT is still up in the air. But with camp officially underway, his absence will be felt more and more each day.
