Ryan Kent transfer latest as Leeds United chief details transfer strategy amid Rangers bid plans

Leeds chief executive Angus Kinnear will take his time to secure the right players as they consider a £10m bid for Rangers star Ryan Kent.

The Ibrox men have no intention of accepting a deal in that price range and the player is understood to be keen to stay in Glasgow, a city where he has finally settled after a raft of loan moves.

But the newly promoted Premier League club's boss Marcelo Bielsa is a long-term admirer of Kent and has already made two failed bids to secure his signature in the past.

He is understood to be keen to make it third time lucky as he faces the challenge of finally solidifying the northern powerhouse as an elite team once again.

And Kinnear admits the club will take his time in securing the right players to achieve their aims.

Speaking on  Sky Sports, he said: "The market has been a bit slow. The deals are going to take time, we are not going to rush it, we are going to want to secure the right players.

"But we are confident of getting the three to four key areas that we want to strengthen, we are confident of bringing those people in during the window."

Bielsa is one of the most influential and admired coaches in English football after he transformed the Whites' fortunes over two dramatic seasons.

His contract is up but a deal is in place to secure him for at least another season, with the coaches' legendary attention to detail the only thing getting in the way of a signature.

Kinnear said: "He is very, very close. The challenge with Marcelo as we had last season is that he is totally fixated on the season ahead.

"He is in the training round every day, working with the team, doing his analytics.

"I just need to find the appropriate window to get a bit of paper in front of him and for him to sign it. But we don't foresee any challenges.

Brighton 's Ben White has been linked with a move for some time but the South coast club are looking for a huge transfer fee if they are forced to move on someone who has been a key player.

He admitted: "There have been discussions (with White). I think it is going to be challenging to make him a Leeds United player.

"But if it not Ben White then we have other options which are in advanced stages and we will be closing in one soon."
